The Murderbot Diaries

This is a science fiction series by Martha Wells, featuring a part robot, part human construct designed as a Security Unit (SecUnit). The SecUnit has hacked its governor module, enabling it to develop independence and a preference for watching soap operas. However, it keeps getting involved in various missions and adventures with humans and other artificial intelligences, who challenge its views on life and itself. The series is narrated by the SecUnit, who calls itself Murderbot, in a witty and sarcastic voice
